Planning An Auditorium Theater Seating Arrangement

By Winnie Ford

If one is part of a team that would organize a certain event in a theater or maybe a seminar, then one of the most important things that he would have to think about would be the auditorium theater seating plan. If one is an organizer, he has to make sure that everyone in the audience has seat and that everyone is comfortable. So if one is new at this job, then here are a few tips that might be able to help.

So when one would start arranging the seats, then he would be needing a blueprint or a drawing of the entire area of the place. The organizer has to first make a count of how many chairs or seats are in the entire place because he will be comparing it to the number of guests. Now this will also help him make some room just in case there are some last minute entrees.

Once one has already got a hold of how many seats there are inside, then he must tally them with the number of guests that would be arriving. It is actually for this reason that a guest list is a very important part of the things that an organizer would have to prepare. Now if the place is full and there are still attendees, then the organizer may allocate a place for those who are willing to stand.

VIPs are very crucial to the success of the event as they are part of the contributors of the event. It is because of this that they would definitely expect some good treatment when they would attend. So while preparing for this event or talk, the organizers must make sure to count the number of VIPs attending.

After getting a list of all the VIPs that will be attending, then the very next thing to do would be to give them an exclusive spot. Usually, they would be given front row seats so that they will be able to have a nice view of the stage. Another place that they might consider putting the VIPs in would be somewhere in the top or a balcony seat if there is one in the area.

Of course the management cannot discriminate those who have disabilities and other sort of conditions. There are some people who might come in wheelchairs and would take up more space than regular guests. Now in order to address this, one would have to have a head count of how many people in wheelchairs would be coming.

Usually, the people in wheelchairs would have someone who will be taking care of them. It is for this reason that for every disabled person who would come, the organizers have to reserve one seat for their caregivers. This is another reason that the head count is extremely important.

So if one is an organizer of a certain event or stage play, then he has to make sure that the auditorium theater seating plan is done properly. This way, all guests will be satisfied with the their seats. Then they will be able to be comfortable and they will enjoy themselves.
